Ladakh is known for its striking and rugged beauty. In this vast and still high altitude Himalayan desert, villages and large turquoise lakes appear like true oases of life.
This itinerary was designed to offer you a glimpse of the peaceful village life of the lush Leh and Sham valleys with numerous apricot orchards and stunning monasteries, as well as the life of nomads living on the shores of lake Tsomoriri on the Changthang plateau. With highlights like visiting nomads in their camp and tasting Tibetan butter tea with them or marveling at the ancient frescos of the Alchi temple complex, we have no doubts that this journey will be the first of many to come.

BEST TIME TO VISIT:
With extreme temperatures and heavy snowfall blocking the majority of roads getting in and out of Ladakh during the Winter months, the only adequate season for this cultural tour is the Summer. In between the months of June through September, all roads are open and the weather is warm with abundant sunshine.
